2024 NASCAR Cup Series Goodyear 400 Preview

It’s throwback weekend for the NASCAR Cup Series as the best stock car drivers in the world head to Darlington Raceway this Sunday for the Goodyear 400. Coverage begins at 3PM EST on FS1.

Last year’s Spring race saw tempers flare between Kyle Larson and Ross Chastain, along with a couple of late cautions, sending the race into overtime. William Byron led only 7 laps en route to his first Cup win at the Lady in Black.

Kyle Larson +400 | Top 5 -175 | Top 10 -500

Kyle Larson enters this weekend as the favorite to win after winning last weekend at Kansas in the closest finish in NASCAR history. Last Fall, Larson finally broke through and won his first Cup race at the Lady in Black at the Southern 500. He’s finished inside the Top 5 in six of his twelve starts at Darlington, where he finished 2nd in three straight races from 2019 to 2021. Larson should be in the hunt for the win.

Denny Hamlin +450 | Top 5 -165 | Top 10 -450

Denny Hamlin has won at Darlington four times in his career, with his most recent win coming in 2021. He led 177 laps in the Southern 500 last year, but wound up in 25th. Hamlin has led at least one lap in his last eight starts at the track Too Tough to Tame, and this season he’s led in all 12 races. Hamlin will be on the hunt for his fifth Cup win at the Lady in Black on Sunday.

Martin Truex Jr +650 | Top 5 -125 | Top 10 -360

Even though he only has two wins at Darlington, Martin Truex Jr still knows how to get the job done. He led 145 laps in the Spring race last year before getting caught up in a crash, where he finished 31st. His average finish is 8.9 on the season, as he continues to look for his first win of the season this Sunday.

William Byron +800 | Top 5 -105 | Top 10 -330

William Byron won this race a year ago, leading only seven laps. It was vengeance after being moved into the wall for the win in 2022 by Joey Logano, nonetheless Byron has mastered the track Too Tough to Tame. He’s finished inside the Top 10 in five of his last seven starts at Darlington. He’ll look to go back-to-back in the Spring races this weekend.

Kyle Busch +1600 | Top 5 +190 | Top 10 -175

Kyle Busch has found his rhythm once again at Darlington. After finishing 30th and 33rd in 2022, the move to RCR saw a drastic improvement for Busch, finishing 7th in the Spring race and 11th in the Southern 500. Busch has also finished inside the Top 10 in three of his last four races. Momentum is in the right direction heading into Sunday.

Brad Keselowski +1800 | Top 5 +230 | Top 10 -150

After finishing 2nd at Texas and Talladega, Brad Keselowski is tired of coming one spot short. He heads back to Darlington, where he won the 2018 Southern 500. Since the switch to RFK in 2022, Keselowski has finished inside the Top 10 in his last three starts at the Lady in Black. He’ll look to end his winless streak this Sunday.

Bubba Wallace +2800 | Top 5 +350 | Top 10 +100 

After three straight weekends of poor finishes, Bubba Wallace looks to regain control of the season at the track Too Tough to Tame this Sunday. He’s finished inside the Top 10 in his last three starts at Darlington, where he finished 5th in the Spring race last year. Be on the lookout for Bubba this Sunday.
