Best Picks for Indy 500 |

Scott McLaughlin +450

Scott McLaughlin holds the title as the fastest man in Indianapolis, winning the pole last Sunday. He’s been in the Top 5 in three of the five practice sessions heading into Carb Day, including P1 in the opening practice session. He leads the field to the green flag with an all Penske front row.

Josef Newgarden +550

Last year’s Indy 500 winner will roll off from the third position. Josef Newgarden has essentially been second fiddle to Penske teammate Scott McLuaghlin, as he’s also been inside the Top 5 in three of the five practice sessions this past week. He’s looking to be the first driver to win back-to-back Indy 500’s since Helio Castroneves in 2001-02.

Kyle Larson +650

The talk of Gasoline Alley has been Kyle Larson, as he will attempt the Double Duty of running all 1100 miles in the Indianapolis 500 and NASCAR’s Coca-Cola 600. He’s quickly learned how to operate an Indycar, qualifying fifth for the Indy 500 on Sunday. If there’s anything with an engine, Kyle Larson will race it, and race it fast.

Will Power +650

The 2018 Indianapolis 500 winner will start from the second position in an all Penske front row. Will Power has been consistently inside the Top 10 in all but one of the practice sessions heading into Carb Day. He enters 12 points behind Alex Palou for the championship lead, expect Power to have a strong day for Sunday.

Alexander Rossi +1000

The winner of the 100th Indianapolis 500 will start fourth on Sunday. Alexander Rossi has been inside the Top 10 in all but one of the practice sessions entering Carb Day. He leads the Arrow McLaren team alongside teammate Kyle Larson in the second row, going for his second Indy 500 win.

Colton Herta +1300

It’s been two years since Colton Herta last won in Indycar, that win coming at the Indianapolis G.P. Herta qualified 13th for Sunday’s race but has shown strong speed in practice. Monday’s session he posted the second fastest time and was able to navigate through traffic well. He’ll look to bring Andretti Global it’s first Indy 500 trophy since Takuma Sato in 2017.

Scott Dixon +1800

Despite qualifying 21st for the Indianapolis 500, Scott Dixon has showed string pace in practice. The 2008 Indy 500 winner is in the thick of the title race, entering only 25 points behind Alex Palou for the points lead. Expect Dixon to carve his way through the field this weekend.

Ed Carpenter +5000

Ed Carpenter makes his 21st attempt at winning the Indianapolis 500, starting from the 17th position. He’s shown glimpses pf speed in practice and nearly advanced to the Fast 12 in qualifying on Saturday. It’s a longshot, but don’t count Carpenter out.
