NASCAR Truck Series Predictions at Talladega

Matt DiBenedetto celebrates in victory lane following the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 250.

The Trucks make their annual stop in Talladega this Saturday for the Love’s RV Stop 250 at 1PM EST on FS1.

Last season’s race ended in controversial fashion following a last lap wreck in the tri-oval, causing NASCAR to throw the caution flag early as the field were a few hundred feet away from the finish line. Matt DiBenedetto was declared the winner after NASCAR reviewed the moment when the caution was displayed.

Zane Smith +1000

The defending Truck Champion finds himself in a -14 point deficit to climb out of in order to contend for back-to-back championships. Zane Smith hasn’t had a Top 10 finish at Talladega, but has won the last two Truck races at Daytona. He knows how to win at one of the the Superspeedways, he’ll look to get over that hump and reach victory lane on Saturday.

Grant Enfinger +1100

Although he hasn’t finished inside the Top 10 at Talladega since 2019, Grant Enfinger put his name on the NASCAR map after his win in 2016. Enfinger picked up a win in the second Playoff race in the opening round at the Milwaukee Mile, which this Saturday at Talladega would be the second race in the second round of the Playoffs for the Trucks. Enfinger will be one to watch out for in the closing laps this weekend.

Parker Kligerman +1600

Making an appearance this weekend behind the #75 Henderson Motorsports Chevy Silverado, Parker Kligerman only has one goal in mind: WIN. He’s won twice at Talladega in 2012 and most recently in 2017. If he can stay out of trouble, Kligerman will make his presence felt in the closing stages of Saturday’s race.

Brett Moffitt +1600

Making his return to Talladega in the Truck Series for the first time since 2020, Brett Moffitt will pilot the #34 Front Row Motorsports Fr8Auctions Ford F-150. His last finish at Talladega was 7th in 2020, but with a more competitive Truck this time, it’s possible that Moffitt could play spoiler and win on Saturday.

Rajah Caruth +3000

Coming off a 6th place finish at Bristol, Rajah Caruth heads into Talladega with momentum in what could be his last chance at reaching victory lane in the Truck Series. With plans for 2024 still TBD, he’s secured a race with Hendrick Motorsports for the season finale at Phoenix. A confidence booster for the driver of the #24 GMS Racing Wendell Scott Foundation Chevy Silverado heading into the weekend.

Dean Thompson +5000

With one Top 5 and three Top 10’s on the year, Dean Thompson is still in search for his first NASCAR victory, and there’s no better place to get that first win than Talladega. In the last four Truck races, the winner of the race scored their first career win. With as close as Dean’s come to winning earlier this year at Charlotte and numerous ARCA races, there could be a perfect storm brewing in Talladega on Saturday.
