NASCAR Truck Series Predictions at Richmond
NASCAR Craftsman Trucks make their way to Richmond Raceway this Saturday night for the regular season finale Worldwide Express 250 at 7:30 PM EST on FS1.
Last year’s race saw Kyle Busch Motorsports dominate the competition, sweeping the first two spots with Chandler Smith grabbing the win and John Hunter Nemechek finishing in 2nd.
Corey Heim was the worst finishing KBM truck last year in 5th, but enters as the favorite to win. Last weekend he was passed by Kyle Busch on the last lap in the tunnel turn at Pocono, finishing in 2nd after leading the most laps with 27. But this weekend he won’t have to worry about any Cup drivers raining on his parade. He’s won at Martinsville and finished 6th at North Wilkesboro, so expect the #11 to be in the front once more before he makes a push for the Championship.
Ty Majeski led the way early in last year’s race, but couldn’t get back to the lead. He finished 3rd after leading 73 laps and is still looking for his first win in 2023. He’s finished 4th at Martinsville and 2nd at North Wilkesboro earlier this year. Majeski sits 7th in the Playoff standings heading into the weekend, he’ll look to add some Playoff points to move up before the regular season ends.
Grant Enfinger finished 4th in this race last year, but won this race the year prior in 2021, and finished 8th in 2020. An average finish of 4.3 should give a clear notice to the competition that the #23 knows his way around Richmond. He enters this Saturday 3rd in the regular season standings behind Zane Smith by 17 points, expect that to change following the race.
Nick Sanchez has had a stellar rookie season so far, and he’s looking for his first Truck win this Saturday night. He’s led 231 laps this season, the second most for any Truck driver and only behind Corey Heim. It’s the most by a Truck driver without a win this year, but lookout for that #2 truck to add a trophy to his collection.
Tyler Ankrum enters Richmond 14th in the points standings, 71 points outside the cutoff, and needs a win to make the Playoffs. He’s been very good at Richmond, with finishes of 5th in 2020, 3rd in 2021, and 13th in 2022. With an average finish of 7th, the #16 truck has the skill to wheel it at Richmond, but will it be enough to win?
