2024 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Homestead Preview
It’ll be a sunny Saturday for the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series as they head to Homestead-Miami Speedway. Coverage for the ‘Baptist Health 200’ begins at 12PM EST on FS1.
Last year’s race was won by Carson Hocevar, who stole the lead from Ben Rhodes with 11 laps to go, ultimately punching his ticket into Phoenix for a shot at the Championship.

Corey Heim +160 | Top 5 -400
Corey Heim enters this weekend as the favorite to win and potentially punch his ticket into the Championship 4. Heim has swept both races at Kansas, his only wins on 1.5 mile tracks this season. Heim’s worst finish on a 1.5 mile track was 3rd in Atlanta and Las Vegas, not counting Charlotte where he originally finished 2nd but was relegated to 36th after failing post race tech. Heim led the most laps last year (57) and finished 3rd, besting his finish in 2022 at 5th. Good chance he clinches a spot at Phoenix.
Ty Majeski +700 | Top 5 -115
Ty Majeski is a previous winner at Homestead in 2022 where he locked his spot for a Championship. He’ll have the opportunity to do that again on Saturday, as he’s finished inside the Top 10 in each of his three starts at Homestead. He enters only +5 points above the cutoff line, so a win would take the stress off Majeski.
Layne Riggs +1000 | Top 5 +130
Layne Riggs is the epitome of being a day late and a dollar short. During the regular season, Riggs’ average finish was 19th, with four Top 5’s and five Top 10’s. After failing to win at Richmond to make the Playoffs, Riggs has finally been able to find his footing in the Trucks, winning the first two Playoff races at Milwaukee and Bristol, and finishing 2nd at Kansas. His average finish since the Playoffs began is 8th. Not to mention the #38 truck has finished runner up in the last two years at Homestead…until they were DQ’d after inspection last year. Nonetheless, he’ll look to add another win on his rookie campaign.
Kaden Honeycutt +1800 | Top 5 +225
Kaden Honeycutt returns this weekend for Niece Motorpsorts, looking to have another solid performance on a 1.5 mile track in Homestead. His best finishes this year have come from Kansas, where he finished 4th in both races, 6th in Atlanta, and 7th in Charlotte. He’ll be racing fulltime for Niece Motorsports in 2025, so no pressure on Honeycutt as he looks to build a Top 5 performance this weekend.
Stewart Friesen +3000 | Top 5 +380
Stewart Friesen has had a very lackluster season, with only one Top 5 finish and five Top 10’s to his name in 2024. The upside for Friesen is that Top 5 finish he had was in Charlotte. He just so happens to also have really strong pace at Homestead, with a 3rd place finish in 2022 and 6th place finish in last year’s race. He’ll look to make the most of his opportunity this weekend as he looks to reach victory lane for the first time this season.
