NASCAR Xfinity Series Predictions at Daytona

Jeremy Clements in victory lane after the 2022 Wawa 250.

NASCAR heads to Daytona International Speedway in the final weekend of August, kicking it off with the Wawa 250 at 7:30 PM EST on USA.

Last season was a wreckfest to the very end, where the underdogs found themselves contending for the win. Jeremy Clements took the checkered flag at 1:30 AM on Saturday morning, and punched his ticket to the Playoffs.

Austin Hill (+400)

Entering this weekend as the favorite, Austin Hill has two wins at Daytona back February 2022 and February 2023. Last season, Hill had fuel issues on the final restart in the lead, ultimately losing the race. He also enters this weekend only nine points ahead of John Hunter Nemechek in the points standings, making it more crucial to win those 15 bonus points heading into the Playoffs. Superspeedways have always been the biggest strength for the #21 RCR Chevy, they’ll look to add to their trophy case this Friday night.

Justin Haley (+900)

Making his fifth start in the Xfinity Series this season, Justin Haley has won all four of his Xfinity wins on Superspeedways, two of them coming at Daytona in the Summer of 2020 and 2021. He’s ran three races on superspeedways style tracks this year, finishing 10th at Daytona, 10th in Spring Atlanta and a controversial 4th in Summer Atlanta, where he battled with teammate Daniel Hemric rather than push him to a win. He’ll look to win his third Xfinity race at Daytona this weekend.

Parker Kilgerman (+1300)

Heading into the weekend with five straight Top 5’s, Parker Kligerman is on the brink of winning his first Xfinity Series race after coming in 2nd at Road America and 3rd last week at Watkins Glen. He enters this weekend three points behind Riley Herbst for the 12th and final spot in the Playoffs. Having run 3rd earlier this year at Talladega, Kligerman will be looking to strike at the right time and earn his first Xfinity Series win at Daytona on Friday.

Riley Herbst (+2400)

Entering this weekend with only a three point cushion at the cutoff, Riley Herbst will look to build more of a comfortable margin with that gap. He’s finished in the Top 10 in three of his five starts at Daytona in Stewart-Haas equipment. Herbst has the capability of winning in the Xfinity Series, his best shot might come this Friday night.

Ryan Sieg (+5000)

For Ryan Sieg, Daytona could be his last chance at making the Playoffs. He enters 18th in points, 195 points behind Riley Herbst, needing a win to make the Playoffs. He has three Top 5’s and seven Top 10’s in 19 starts at Daytona, including an 8th place finish from earlier this year in February. He’s been close to winning in the past, but gets caught in late race crashes. If he stays out of trouble, he’ll have a strong chance to reach victory lane for the first time in his career this Friday night.
