2024 NASCAR Xfinity Series United Rentals 300 Preview
After months of being circled on the calendar, the roar of the NASCAR Xfinity Series will be heard on Saturday night from Daytona for the United Rentals 300. Race coverage starts this Saturday at 5 PM EST on FS1.
Last year’s race ended in controversy with a last lap crash, sending Sam Mayer spinning upside down on the backstretch. Austin Hill won in a three wide battle, due to the timing of the caution, ahead of Justin Allgaier and John Hunter Nemechek.

Austin Hill +350
It’s no surprise why Austin Hill enters as the favorite to win this Saturday at Daytona. He’s gone to victory lane in this race the last two years, looking to make it three in a row. Not to mention, four of his six career Xfinity wins have come from Superspeedway style tracks at Daytona and Atlanta. He’ll be one to watch out for on the track.
Justin Allgaier +1200
The last time Xfinity cars were on the track at Daytona, Justin Allgaier was heading to victory lane after beating Sheldon Creed in a photo finish. It was his first win at Daytona in his 26th Xfinity start. With Top 5 finishes in four of his last five starts at the World Center of Racing, look for that good string of finishes to continue.
Sheldon Creed +1600
Sheldon Creed is still searching for his first career Xfinity Series win after coming just a few inches short at this track last Summer. After a rough end to his time with RCR, Creed makes the jump to Joe Gibbs Racing. Without a doubt, there will be a score Sheldon will try to settle with RCR this season, and it starts at Daytona.
Chandler Smith +1800
Another driver switching teams is Chandler Smith, jumping from Kaulig Racing to Joe Gibbs Racing. He’ll be joining teammate Sheldon Creed in Daytona as two drivers looking to start their season on the right foot. Toyota won 11 Xfinity races last year, and Chandler Smith will look to get the first win of the season at Daytona.
Riley Herbst +2500
The leaps made by Riley Herbst and Stewart Haas Racing at the end of 2023 only set the bar for 2024 higher than ever before. Herbst finished his last five races inside the Top 5, including a win at Las Vegas. 2024 is the year where Riley Herbst puts the competition on notice, starting with a strong run at Daytona.
